Organizing and planning this kite festival within two months
is a very special challenge.

The festival will take place 9. & 10. October 2010, Friday the 8th is the arrival day.

Participants, visiting the festival as a day guest without taking their car on the field, do not need to register
Who wants to access the area with a car needs a parking permit  please see below > Registration

Day visitors with little baggage are recommended on using the close by car parks.
Other parking spots within walking distance will be hard to find
and the parking possibilities on the field are limited and are not accessible when too many visitors are present.

Participants, visiting the festival for the whole weekend and staying on the field,
or participants who want to access the field with a vehicle , or spend the night in the gym,
need to register, please see below.

Music und Moderation
You are very welcome to make song requests as long as you hand in a USB device with the song.
Handling CDs and DVDs is too complex.  This year Markus Krümpel will support us as a moderator.

A basic boarding for Saturday and Sunday  is planned and will cost 30€ for 5 meals per person.
you will find further information on the registration form.
 
For the area breakup we will regard the statements from the registration form and the current wind and weather situation. 
Therefore please state your kite main foci in the registration form.

Since we depend on royalties from our partners to finance the event
commercial trade is only allowed a license from the host.

Info for first time visitors
The Lunen Kite Festival is a well known international festival.
For 21 years on an air field during the school holidays in early October.
The grass field is very close by the city centre and one side it is surrounded by a small river.
During the week it is used as a city park by the public.
This is one the reasons why almost 60,000 people attend the festival every year.

Christian Treppner used to organize the festival but he resigned
so the job was passed on to us, in order to ensure that the festival can take place.

Our ideas:
Kites: especially art kites, original kites and unique kites, wind installations with sound and light
Exhibitions at the hanger: kites from Karl Dambeck and KAP
Workshops some weeks before and during the festival on the field.

This year we will have 2 new important highlights:
 Saturday night with the "Nacht der Wunder" (Notta die miracoli/Night of Miracles)
with rangolis by candles, night flying and a firework show.
This night is also the final event of the "Local Heroes" week
(as a part of the European Capital of Culture )
and we hope that many local heroes and our guests can help us
to create a wonderful atmosphere on the field.


- Sunday: flying for "One Sky One World"
During this weekend, Kisa and Anke will do workshops with children and Sunday
we will fly all together for peace, tolerance and communication.
